Our future is at stake
Our future is at stake; remember,
the coming generation is depended on us in terms of resources and democracy. How
we invest these is imperative owing to the fact that their prospect is pegged
these. The value of importance we attach to these resources is not only
critical to us but also to them. Therefore every single strategic lead taken or
being perceived or being implemented must be well thought, well planned and
organized because we cannot afford to squander our resources and democracy.
It is upon us to be careful about how we handle matters to preserve the inheritance awaiting
the next generation. Our conversation, therefore, should be characterized by
seasoned decorum, deliberate sensitivity, and considerate tolerance coupled maturity.
It is high time we ask ourselves hard questions, like what are our goals, where
are we? Why are so polarized? How did we get here in the first place? And many
others if at all we want fruitful future. These questions and their potential
weight demands sobriety, candidness and an open mind. Because as we develop and
begin conversations around these questions at some point we’ll have to swallow
our pride and even reason with the voice of truth and come to terms with hard
truths, facts and realities of our past emanating from the discourse. But before then any slandering, defamation
and utterance that are demeaning and anger-provoking is dividing us further. We
have a responsibility to deliver functional democracy to our successors.
